For us, happiness is not just a plus, but it's a need and an essential tool for children's success. It brings out good moral character and good health both physically and emotionally.
MEET THE FOUNDER
I am the founder/Educator of A Happy Place for Children. For most of my life, I’ve been an early childhood educator. My passion for teaching children was sparked when I was 13; I started off babysitting local kids in my neighborhood. That was when I realized I wanted to impact the lives of young children by becoming a teacher. In 1999, I founded A Happy Place for Children to build a quality family home childcare program focused around teaching young children to be great students and positive young leaders. My vision was to help small children acquire traits that would carry them throughout their entire lives. I teach children through viable lessons , hard work, persistence, and with the right mindset, that you can achieve anything you put their mind to. I hold a certified Child Development Associate (CDA) and a Florida Director Credential with an associates degree in early childhood management. I am also a member of the Family Child Care Association of Jacksonville, the Florida Family Child Care Home Association, and the National Association for Family Child Care. In my spare time, I enjoy shopping, traveling, helping others, and spending time with my three amazing sons and my charming goddaughter.
